Philtech Explorations

Exploration is our one true passion and is considered PHILTECH’s holiday away from work. Since 1994, we have been exploring underwater wrecks, cave and spring systems, and yes, reefs too, from north to south of the archipelago.

Our explorations often times bring us unexpected bonuses. For instance, while digging out a spring in Southern Leyte, we found from residents that within the same period each year, a congregation of whalesharks feed at the mouth of Sogod Bay, just a few kilometers away from the spring.

To us every exploration yields positive results, whether we find a new playground or not. Each new environment is unique, and some, outright radical. Every trip brings new lessons and ideas. From these learning points, we apply updates to gear configuration, training techniques, and we form new attitudes. These experiences have taught us that perfection in diving is invariably linked to frustration. We will never be perfect, yet we just keep trying.
